.: holiday sweater :.

I totally forgot to wish everyone a happy holiday! Hope you had a great one.
Is it just me or somehow holiday sweaters are taking over the stores this year? Every store sell holiday sweaters, from the one that's actually cute to the super ridiculous ones. After a very long search that includes begging and bugging the sales assistant at J Crew (it was sold out everywhere!), I finally got this sweater. It's so soft and warm, and the birdie+cat print is just adorable albeit they are not very holiday-related.

.: winter pastels :.

The weather here is really funky. I managed to wear this pastel outfit a couple of days ago and today I was all bundled up like Micheline Man. I ended up getting the mint loafers thanks to Pinterest. It pops up everywhere and I can't sleep thinking about it. What do you think about the color combo?

.: wintergreen :.

Okay, it finally feels like winter in SoCal! It was gloomy all day yesterday, but it was actually a little warmer earlier today. I managed to walk around outside without any extra layer. Got my very first Cambridge satchel after contemplating for almost a year, the color is so pretty!

.: Double Take :.

Oh what a busy month! Christmas gifts to buy, cookies to bake, cleaning the house for visiting guests... I hardly had the time to post anything! :) We're probably just going to have a mellow, relaxed Christmas dinners so I just bought a simple dress that can be dressed up and down. This dress has a ruched band around the waist to hide the holiday weight, which is great. The cut is very flattering for someone with fuller hips. Oh, and the dress is available all the way up to size 3X.

Dress it down with a denim jacket and fitted cotton blazer for the weekend.

Dress it up with festive necklace, jeweled shoes, and fluffy cardigans. I bet it'll look nice with some faux-fur capes and glittered blazer, too.

.: What a character :.

I saw so many novelty sweaters popping up this season and got into the whole cute character sweater mania. I was not a big fan of sweater because they tend to add unpleasant bulks in my body. I learned it's best to avoid chunky, cable-knit sweaters and opt for leaner, well-fitted wool/cotton blend ones. I was so smitten by this one and while it's not necessarily age-appropriate, I went ahead and bought it. Who cares about age when you're having fun.

.: staying warm :.

The weather here is not frightful at all. I can still get away with wearing skirts sans-tights during the day.  Keeping warm with layers and a wool blazer. The nice thing about fitted blazers is that it can create shapes when there was none; in this case it created an illusion of a smaller waistline :) And the elements draw attentions away from places that are less flattering (a.k.a my tummy).
